Chandigarh Administration organizes NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) Awareness Program.

Chandigarh, India, December 22, 2022 — The Department of Higher Education, Chandigarh Administration, organized a two-day NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) Awareness Program on December 20-21 at Sabras Auditorium of Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-42, Chandigarh. Administrators from Higher Education Departments, College Principals, and Officers from various Universities in Chandigarh and Punjab attended the program.
Dr. Jagannath Patil, Adviser, NAAC, Bengaluru, gave an overview of RAF (Revised Accreditation Framework). Then, Dr. Dalip Kumar, Registrar of Amity University, Punjab, explained in detail the Quality Indicator Framework and how it became the cornerstone of the assessment and accreditation process of NAAC.
The Chandigarh Administration encouraged the Higher Education Institutions in Chandigarh and Punjab to improve their quality of education, infrastructure, teaching, research, and learning. And thus, “Qualify to Apply for NAAC Accreditation.”
The Department of Public Relations, Chandigarh Administration informs that the dignitaries that attended the program included DPI (Colleges) Punjab; Director Higher Education, Chandigarh Administration; and Education Secretary, Chandigarh Administration, among others. Post Graduate Government College for Girls Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Nisha Aggarwal formally welcomed the gathering.
The concerned officials from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, and Panjab University Chandigarh were among those who participated. However, per the current status, while Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, a UGC Category-1 University, is now accredited with NAAC Grade A++, a rare distinction, Panjab University, Chandigarh, on the other hand, does not have a NAAC Accreditation.
