Barcelona were crowned FIFA Club World Cup winners when they thrashed Brazilian side Santos, 4-0, in Japan.

The win confirms Barcelona’s standing as the best club team in the world.

“We played a complete game,” captain Carles Puyol said. “It was a good game, an intense game and we’re very happy with the result.”

The match between the European and South American champions in Yokohama had been billed as a showdown between Messi, widely acknowledged as the best player in the world, and Brazilian star Neymar. But it was no contest - with Messi the star of match - and named the tournament’s most valuable player - as Barcelona won the competition.

“Barcelona deserved to win. They are the best team in the world and we learned an important lesson,” said Neymar of Santos, Brazil.

Futbol Club Barcelona (English: Football Club Barcelona), also known as Barcelona and familiarly as Barca is a professional football club, based in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. While Santos Futebol Clube also known as Santos is a Brazilian professional football club based in Santos, Sao Paulo, Brazil.

CAMPER skipper Chris Nicholson nursed his boat through heinous sea conditions overnight into Table Bay to clinch second place in Cape Town, South Africa, on Sunday after 21 days at sea.

CAMPER with Emirates Team New Zealand, throttled back overnight in winds gusting 35 knots and mountainous seas, but once daylight broke, they were up to speed and screamed across the finish to take 25 points to add to their four points earned for a third-place finish in the Iberdrola In-Port Race in Alicante, Spain, on October 29.

They are now in second place overall on the Volvo Ocean Race leaderboard with 29 points - two behind Team TELEFONICA who finished first on Saturday evening.

The Formula One World Championship ventures into new territory this week with inaugural Indian Grand Prix, which takes place on October 30 at the Buddh International Circuit. The 5.137 km track is located some 40 km from the Indian capital, New Delhi, and has been built as part of a massive redevelopment of the Greater Noida area, which will eventually include residential and professional buildings.

The circuit layout has been designed by Hermann Tilke with extensive input from the Formula One teams and features several interesting features, including a 1.1 km straight that goes steeply downhill before rising uphill and a double apex cambered radial turn named the Parabolica. The wide track - at many points over 21m in width - also features marked changes of gradient over the course of a lap, so there is likely to be several overtaking opportunities.

Meanwhile, French Carmaker RENAULT told the GlobalGiants.Com Publisher that since the Buddh International Circuit is a new addition to the calendar, a great deal of work must be completed at the factory before a car has even turned a wheel on the tarmac. This enables a good base power-train set-up to be determined and available track time to be maximised. So, Renault Sport F1 will use all the tools at its disposal, such as computer simulation and engine dyno running, to meet this objective.

DreamWorks Animation's upcoming feature film "Monkeys of Mumbai" to be directed by Kevin Lima

DREAMWORKS

Photo: Left to Right: Lisa Stewart (Producer), Paul Berges (Writer), Gurinder Chadha (Writer), Kevin Lima (Director), A. R. Rahman (EP/Composer), Stephen Schwartz (EP/Lyricist), Chris Chase (Producer). Location: Glendale, CA, USA.

DreamWorks Animation today announced in Glendale, California, that Kevin Lima (Enchanted, Tarzan) will direct the upcoming feature film Monkeys of Mumbai (working title), the studio’s first-ever Bollywood-style animated musical adventure.

Lisa Stewart (Turbo, Monsters vs. Aliens) and Chris Chase (Enchanted, Tarzan) will serve as producers on the project. Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Prince of Egypt, Enchanted) is serving as executive producer and lyricist, A. R. Rahman (127 Hours, Slumdog Millionaire, Bombay Dreams) is serving as executive producer and composer, and Gurinder Chadha & Paul Berges (Bride & Prejudice, Bend It Like Beckham) are writing the feature project.

Inspired by the great Indian epic tale of The Ramayana - but retold through the point of view of its monkeys - Monkeys of Mumbai revolves around two common monkeys who become unlikely heroes in a last ditch effort to stop an ancient, thought-to-be-mythical demon from conquering the world.

DreamWorks Animation creates high-quality entertainment, including animated feature films, meant for audiences around the world. All of DreamWorks Animation’s feature films are now being produced in 3D.

Nik Wallenda doesn’t want to die. It just looks that way sometimes. He’s seventh generation of the legendary acrobatic family The Flying Wallendas, and is on a mission to bring his famous family’s skill, passion and showmanship to a new 21st Century audience.

On Wednesday, June 22, Discovery Channel will sneak peek LIFE ON A WIRE, a limited series commissioned by Discovery Channel that profiles Nik and his incredible family. Produced by RelativityREAL for Discovery, additional episodes are set to air later in 2011 on the network.

LIFE ON A WIRE shows how, through the help of his entire family, Nik creates spectacular acts that cheat death through science, skill and discipline.

The success of any of Nik’s acts — and, indeed, his very life — is dependent upon meticulous preparations that include engineering and wind speed analysis, conducted with a crew that includes his chief engineer (his uncle Mike), and his safety coordinator (his father Terry).

This past weekend, Nik and his mother Delilah made headlines around the world as they successfully walked a high wire in Puerto Rico.

Says Nik, “People ask me all the time - why do you do this? Why do you risk your life? My family has been doing this for seven generations. I was born doing it; it’s really all I know. It’s in my blood, it’s who I am and I can’t imagine doing anything else.”
