AKRON, Ohio, August 11, 2023 — In a nod to Goodyear’s longstanding history in Akron, Ohio, the Company has collaborated with The Well CDC, a nonprofit organization, to revitalize the iconic Goodyear sign that shines over the Company’s former headquarters, which is now Goodyear Hall. Goodyear is celebrating its 125th Anniversary.
“The iconic Goodyear sign represents the City of Akron,” says Mayor Dan Horrigan. “It’s wonderful to see it lit up again to celebrate Goodyear’s commitment to this city. I anticipate many more years of their partnership and impact in Akron.”
Goodyear, one of the world’s largest tire companies, will celebrate its 125th Anniversary on August 29. It employs approximately 74,000 people and produces products in 57 facilities across 23 countries. Its two Innovation Centers in Akron, Ohio, and Colmar-Berg, Luxembourg, aim to develop state-of-the-art products and services that set the industry’s technology and performance standards.
