Tree-planting Ceremony Commemorates End of the Second World War and Founding of the United Nations

Photo: A special ceremony was held to commemorate the return of the Peace Bell to its original location in the Japanese Garden, at UN headquarters. The Bell had been moved temporarily to the East River esplanade during the renovation of the UN headquarters under the Capital Master Plan (CMP). The event was organized by the Permanent Mission of Japan in collaboration with the Department of Public Information (DPI).
