• Newt Gingrich Discusses New Book “Understanding Trump” at National Press Club Headliners Event, June 16

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Former Speaker of the House and 2012 presidential candidate Newt Gingrich appeared at a National Press Club Headliners Event on June 16th to discuss his new book, “Understanding Trump”.

In “Understanding Trump”, Gingrich shared what he learned from more than two years helping Donald J. Trump throughout his presidential campaign, during his transition from presidential candidate to Commander in Chief, and in his first few months in office. Gingrich provided a unique perspective on how the new president’s past experience as a business leader has shaped his political agenda and approach to governing the country.

The event featured a discussion with the author, an audience question-and-answer session, and a book signing.

• Sharyl Attkisson Brings “The Smear” to a National Press Club Headliners Book Event on August 31

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Former CBS News Correspondent Sharyl Attkisson, author of “The Smear: How Shady Political Operatives and Fake News Control What You See, What You Think and How You Vote,” will appear at a National Press Club Headliners Book Event on Thursday, August 31 at 6:30 p.m. in the Club’s Conference Room.

Attkisson is The New York Times bestselling author of “Stonewalled,” a five-time Emmy Award winner, and the host of “Full Measure with Sharyl Attkisson” offered by Sinclair. She is the recipient of the Edward R. Murrow Award for investigative reporting and has reported nationally for CBS News, PBS and CNN.

In “The Smear,” Attkisson reveals the world of opposition research and the dirty tricks those in power use to influence public opinion. Spin doctors and outside interests use a tactic known as “the Smear” to blindly influence the public, she writes, noting that there is an agenda by those pushing such fabricated stories.

The event will feature a discussion with the author, an audience question-and-answer session, and a book signing. Books will also be available for purchase at the event.

Proceeds from the two events would benefit the non-profit affiliate of the Club, the National Press Club Journalism Institute, which offers innovative, practical training to journalists and communications professionals working in a rapidly-changing media environment.

ATLANTA - July 26, 2017 - According to The Coca-Cola Company, since its 2005 introduction, Coca-Cola Zero has refreshed hundreds of millions of fans across America with its real Coca-Cola taste and zero calories. From its U.S. introduction into the Coca-Cola trademark brand portfolio to its global expansion, the brand is sold in nearly 160 countries around the world.

Now, through in-house innovation and extensive market testing, Coca-Cola Zero is getting a new name, new look and even more delicious taste, said the company. The no-calorie fan favorite will deliver an even better-tasting recipe and now be called “Coca-Cola Zero Sugar”.

“More than 10 years ago, we launched Coca-Cola Zero with a revolutionary recipe that gave fans real Coca-Cola taste without the sugar and calories. Ahmedabad (India) declared World Heritage City by UNESCO

Krakow, Poland, 08 July 2017 — UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee has inscribed three cultural sites in Cambodia, China and India.

The sites added, in order of inscription are:

• Temple Zone of Sambor Prei Kuk, Archaeological Site of Ancient Ishanapura (Cambodia):

The archaeological site of Sambor Prei Kuk, “the temple in the richness of the forest” in the Khmer language, has been identified as Ishanapura, the capital of the Chenla Empire that flourished in the late 6th and early 7th centuries CE. The vestiges of the city cover an area of 25 square kilometres and include a walled city centre as well as numerous temples, ten of which are octagonal, unique specimens of their genre in southeast Asia. Decorated sandstone elements in the site are characteristic of the pre-Angkor decorative idiom, known as the Sambor Prei Kuk Style. Some of these elements, including lintels, pediments and colonnades, are true masterpieces. The art and architecture developed here became models for other parts of the region and lay the ground for the unique Khmer style of the Angkor period.

• Kulangsu: A historic international settlement (China):

Kulangsu is a tiny island located on the estuary of the Chiu-lung River, facing the city of Xiamen. With the opening of a commercial port at Xiamen in 1843, and the establishment of the island as an international settlement in 1903, this island off the southern coast of the Chinese empire suddenly became an important window for Sino-foreign exchanges. Kulangsu is an exceptional example of the cultural fusion that emerged from these exchanges, which remain legible in its urban fabric. There is a mixture of different architectural styles including Traditional Southern Fujian Style, Western Classical Revival Style and Veranda Colonial Style. The most exceptional testimony of the fusion of various stylistic influences is a new architectural movement, the Amoy Deco Style, which is a synthesis of the Modernist style of the early 20th century and Art Deco.

• Historic City of Ahmadabad (India):

The walled city of Ahmadabad, founded by Sultan Ahmad Shah in the 15th century, on the eastern bank of the Sabarmati river, presents a rich architectural heritage from the sultanate period, notably the Bhadra citadel, the walls and gates of the Fort city and numerous mosques and tombs as well as important Hindu and Jain temples of later periods. The urban fabric is made up of densely-packed traditional houses (pols) in gated traditional streets (puras) with characteristic features such as bird feeders, public wells and religious institutions. The city continued to flourish as the capital of the State of Gujarat for six centuries, up to the present.

The 41st session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee (9-12 July), chaired by Jacek Purchla, founder and director of the International Cultural Centre in Krakow, is inscribing new sites on the World Heritage List.

The international superstar, whose affection for MARC O’POLO dates back to the early 1990s, has co-created an iconic capsule collection of logo sweatshirts in double-face knit. Robbie’s wife, Ayda, helped to design the women’s styles.
