UGC India asks Vice-Chancellors to Punish Perpetrators of Ragging, or UGC will Punish the Institution itself.

- NOVEMBER 3, 2020 -

New Delhi, November 3, 2020 — UGC (University Grants Commission) today sent a letter to the Vice-Chancellors, reminding them of its earlier notification entitled “Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions 2009”.

UGC brought to the notice of Vice-Chancellors that ragging is a criminal offense, and UGC has framed regulations on curbing the menace of ragging in higher educational institutions to prevent and eliminate this scourge, the letter said.

“These regulations are mandatory, and all institutions are required to take necessary steps for their implementation in toto, including the monitoring mechanism. UGC will view any violation of these regulations seriously,” UGC told the Vice Chancellors.

Suppose any institution fails to take adequate steps to prevent ragging or does not act per these Regulations or fails to punish perpetrators of incidents suitably. In that case, it will attract punitive action against itself by the UGC, the communication to the VC’s declared.

OMEGA has added three new additions to its famous Trésor line, with each one crafted in the brand’s own 18K Moonshine™ gold. For women who adore this collection’s slender style and simplicity, it’s a chance to raise the levels of luxury further and choose a timepiece that shines with exceptional beauty, OMEGA said.

The new 36 mm models come with cases crafted entirely from 18K Moonshine™ gold. First introduced in 2019, the moonlight inspires this distinctive alloy in a dark blue sky. It offers a paler hue than traditional 18K yellow gold and has a high resistance to the fading of color and luster.

Another new Trésor feature is the addition of mesh bracelets. These classically-styled straps fit elegantly and comfortably around the wrist and are the very first metal bracelets within the collection, OMEGA stated.
