Prime Minister Modi addresses Vijaya Dashami celebrations in Delhi.

New Delhi, October 24, 2023 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the “Ram Leela” at Dwarka in Delhi and witnessed the “Ravan Dahan” ceremony.
During the event, the Prime Minister spoke about the significance of Vijaydashimi, which symbolizes the triumph of justice over injustice, humility over arrogance, and patience over anger. He emphasized the importance of renewing pledges on this auspicious day.
The Prime Minister also mentioned the recent Chandrayaan landing and the tradition of Shastra Poojan, emphasizing that in India, weapons are used for defense, not annexation. He explained that Shakti Pooja represents the well-being and happiness of all creation and highlighted the eternal and modern aspects of Indian philosophy.
Speaking about the Ram Temple being built on Lord Ram’s birthplace, the Prime Minister said that it symbolizes the victory of the patience of Indians after centuries of waiting. He also mentioned that prayers at the temple on the next Ram Navmi will spread happiness worldwide. “Bhagawan Shri Ram bas aane hi wale hain,” the Prime Minister said, echoing the belief that Lord Ram’s arrival is imminent, citing signs similar to those described in Ramcharitmanas.
The Prime Minister emphasized that India is emerging as the world’s largest and most trusted democracy. He expressed his belief that India’s fortunes would rise after 75 years of independence and the arrival of Lord Ram under such auspicious signs.
Additionally, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to stay vigilant against forces that cause disharmony, casteism, and regionalism, which hinder India’s development. He called on everyone to pledge to end discrimination and evils in society.
