UGC India issues Public Notice on Non-Retention of Certificates of Teachers by Higher Education Institutions.
New Delhi, August 13, 2020 — The University Grants Commission (UGC) India has issued a Public Notice concerning Non-Retention of Certificates of Teachers by the Higher Education Institutions.

Supreme Court upholds UGC’s decision to hold final exams by September 30.
The Supreme Court of India today upheld the University Grant’s (UGC) decision to hold final year exams by September 30.
The bench comprising Justices Ashok Bhushan, R. Subhash Reddy, and M.R. Shah said that States must hold exams to promote students. If any state feels they cannot conduct exams, they must approach UGC for suitable reliefs.
The bench further said that State disaster management authority could postpone exams due to the COVID pandemic, but the universities cannot promote students without final examination as ordered by UGC.
