Ganesan Kannabiran takes charge as NAAC Director.

Bangalore, India, July 28, 2023 — The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), India, welcomed Prof. Ganesan Kannabiran as its new Director today. With over thirty years of experience in teaching, research, and administration, Prof. Kannabiran is an esteemed alumnus and senior professor of Information Systems at the National Institute of Technology in Tiruchy. His expertise includes entrepreneurship and skill development.

Prof. Kannabiran has held several leadership positions, including Dean of Research and Consultancy and Director-in-charge at NIT Trichy and NIT Puducherry. With his impressive academic background, which includes a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems and three Master’s Degrees in Computer Science & Engineering, Business Administration (MBA), and Mathematics, he is a highly qualified professional.

Previously, Prof. Kannabiran was the founding Director of the Indian Institute of Information Technology in Andhra Pradesh from 2018 to 2023. He has received several prestigious awards, including the Commonwealth Professional Fellowship, Two Fulbright Fellowships, and British Council Study Fellowship. Prof. Kannabiran has also completed various projects for the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, the All India Council for Technical Education, the Government of India Department of Science and Technology, and UNESCO.
