Mumbai, India, November 20, 2023 — Madhuri Dixit was honored with the prestigious ‘Special Recognition for Contribution to Bharatiya Cinema’ Award at India’s 54th International Film Festival. Anurag Singh Thakur, the Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting and Youth Affairs & Sports, announced the award at the festival’s inaugural function in Panaji, Goa.

Madhuri Dixit is a celebrated actress with a career spanning over four decades and has significantly impacted the Indian film industry. She has received six Filmfare Awards and has been nominated for the Best Actress award fourteen times. The ‘Special Recognition for Contribution to Bharatiya Cinema’ Award is a testimony to her exceptional achievements and enduring influence on Indian cinema.
