NEW YORK, Nov. 3, 2022 — Interbrand has announced its Best Global Brands 2022 ranking at Web Summit 2022. Apple holds the number one position for its 10th consecutive year, while Microsoft has moved to second place, overtaking Amazon.

Microsoft, Tesla, and Chanel have seen the most remarkable YoY percentage growth, all increasing brand value by 32%.

Despite Tesla’s continued growth, it could not replicate the 184% increase in brand value it saw in 2021.

• Top 10

With an 18% increase in brand value, Apple (US$482,215m) has remained at the top of the table. Microsoft (US$278,288m) follows it, which has leapfrogged Amazon (US$274,819m) as number two in the rankings. Google (US$251,751m) has held onto its number four spot.

The remainder of the top 10 companies are Samsung #5 (US$87,689m), Toyota #6 (US$59,757m), Coca-Cola #7 (US$57,535m), Mercedes-Benz #8 (US$56,103m), Disney #9 (US$50,325m) and Nike #10 (US$50,289m) for the first time.

The top 10 brands make up 53% of the total value of the entire table.

• Table Value

The average brand value has reached over US$3 trillion for the first time - a 16% rise from 2021 (US$2,667,524m).

A 16% increase in the table’s overall brand value demonstrates the growing contribution a company’s brand has in driving its economic success. While financial markets have shown significant swings over the last few years, the value of the world’s strongest brands has steadily increased, driving customer choice, loyalty, and margins.

• Key Learnings

The fastest risers in 2022 (in terms of brand value % change, year-on-year) significantly outperformed the fastest-falling brands on three Brand Strength factors - Direction, Agility, and Participation.

Chris Capossela, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Microsoft, said: “At Microsoft, we believe that technology can help empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. So while we continue to help customers digitally transform and leverage our technology to do more with less, we’re excited to grow with our audiences beyond brand constraints as a precious part of their lives.”

Gonzalo Brujó, Global CEO of Interbrand, said: “As we journey through this period of economic uncertainty, the most successful brands will continue to make ever stronger connections with consumers. It is no longer enough to have a static business and brand offering. Successful brands know how to harness new technology to create improved consumer experiences and become a truly integrated part of their lives.”

“These top 10 brands defy the rules. They build solid relationships with their customers, allowing them to extend their brand’s equity beyond traditional products, sectors, or silos. They stand out in terms of leadership, empowerment, and change—and with that comes value,” Interbrand CEO remarked.

Menswear brand JACK&JONES and Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh team up to break the rules of fashion with DON'T HOLD BACK 3.0

Jack&Jones, Ranveer, Fashion

MUMBAI, India, October 6, 2022 — Assembling all the rule breakers and the rebels, the outsiders and the oddballs, the misfits and the mavericks, contemporary menswear brand JACK&JONES launches one of its most extensive campaigns of the year with fashion icon and Brand Ambassador Ranveer Singh.

The campaign is titled ‘DON’T HOLD BACK 3.0’ and celebrates undaunted authenticity and individuality. DON’T HOLD BACK 3.0 picks up from where it left off - channeling fashion as a means of self-expression.

According to JACK&JONES, it has always been at the forefront of high on-trend fashion. Kick-starting the festive season, the brand elevates its positioning further with a high-octane campaign film. The film opens in an everyday setting - a bunch of corporates and working professionals going about their daily routine, dressed as per the norms. Enter the protagonist Ranveer Singh who embodies the ‘Don’t Hold Back’ spirit - he stands for what he believes in, embraces his inner self, and encourages everyone around him not to hold back from their authentic self.

Styled in statement pieces from the latest collection by JACK&JONES, Ranveer completely transforms the setting from an ordinary day to an extraordinary extravaganza. Against the backdrop of an upbeat soundtrack that celebrates non-conformity and inspires an out-of-the-box attitude. The film showcases how anyone can transform a situation from drab to fab by just being their authentic and unique self and defining it as their path rather than following the one already created.

“I am extremely pumped to be back with JACK&JONES for Don’t Hold Back 3.0. This campaign has been exceptional as it has allowed me to showcase aspects of my personality that I truly enjoy while experimenting with fashion-forward styles from JACK&JONES. The brand ethos reflects my philosophy about my life as I strive to stay true to myself every day. I do not let anyone define me or hold me back, and this campaign is an extension of how I feel about life, which makes this an extraordinary one!” said Brand Ambassador Ranveer Singh.

JACK&JONES India currently has 127 stores and 547 shop-in-shops spread across the country.

He added that we have also maintained 1st rank in ICT services exports. Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy, September 27, 2022 - After a summer break of 62 days, the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe season heads into the second-last meeting of the year at the iconic Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The one-make championship, reserved for Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo, still has several titles to be decided, with 24 drivers already standing on the top step of the podium so far this year.

The championship returns to the 4.655km Barcelona track for the first time since 2020 and the fourth time in the history of Super Trofeo Europe. Previous appearances at the Spanish venue came in 2011 and 2009.

At the top of the Pro are the runaway leaders from Bonaldi Motorsport, Loris Spinelli and Max Weering, who can wrap up the drivers’ title this weekend. The dominant forces all season, the crew of the #61 car, will be looking to bounce back from an uncharacteristically off weekend last time out at Spa-Francorchamps, where they failed to win either race. Despite this, Spinelli and Weering remain 37 points clear of BDR Competition’s Amaury Bonduel, who claimed a breakthrough maiden Super Trofeo victory on home soil at Spa in July.

The battle for Pro-Am honors this season has been one of the best for years, and the Oregon Team pairing of Lewis Williamson and Massimo Ciglia will be aiming to continue their strong form in Barcelona. Already a winner four times this year - with a further three second places - the Scottish-Italian partnership has a 24-point lead over the Rexal FFF Racing Team crew of Oscar Lee and Dan Wells heading into the weekend. Behind, the Target Racing entry of Milan Petelet and Dmitry Gvazava is third ahead of VS Racing’s Emanuele Zonzini and Emanuel Colombini. Meanwhile, Micanek Motorsport’s Bronislav Formanek and Karol Basz will look for a positive weekend after missing both races at Spa-Francorchamps due to mechanical issues and car damage.

Multiple Lamborghini Cup champion Gerard van der Horst remains on course for another title at the top of the standings. Three victories, two seconds, and a third place have left the famous Dutchman 20 points ahead of Rexal FFF Racing Team’s Donovan and Luciano Privitelio. A distant third is Hans Fabri (Imperiale Racing), some 58 points further back. Belgian siblings François and Benoît Semoulin are three points adrift in fourth.

The weekend’s action begins with two one-hour free practice sessions on Friday, while the pair of 20-minute qualifying sessions are scheduled for Saturday morning. The first of two 50-minute races, with a rolling start, takes place on Saturday at 15:40. Race 2 will start on Sunday morning at 10:30. Both races will be streamed live worldwide on the Lamborghini Squadra Corse YouTube channel.

New Delhi, September 09, 2022 — Ms. Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), called on the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan today (September 9, 2022).

Welcoming Ms. Georgieva to Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President said that the world is passing through the third year of the Covid pandemic. She noted that multilateral institutions such as the IMF and the World Bank provided significant assistance to many low-income countries. She said that IMF has to play an essential role in maintaining the stability of the International Monetary System.

The President said that today, India is one of the fastest growing major economies in the world. India’s start-up ecosystem ranks high in the world. The success of start-ups in our country, especially the increasing number of Unicorns, is a shining example of our industrial progress. What is even more gratifying is that the development of our country is becoming more inclusive, and regional disparities are also reducing. The basic mantra of today’s India is compassion - compassion for the oppressed, compassion for the needy, and compassion for the marginalized.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., September 07, 2022 — A brand on the move, Charles & Colvard, is giving the luxury industry a glimpse of the future of fine jewelry with its new Couture Collection. The 50-piece collection, crafted using lab-grown diamonds and precious recycled metals, features rings, bracelets, and earrings in staggering carat weights and design combinations that prove fine luxury jewelry can still be conscious.

The collection includes, among others, 10-carat chandelier drop earrings, double and triple-stacked geometric eternity bands, and 12- and 13-carat alternating tennis bracelets. The company said the collection is for couture brides, red carpet fashion, celebrities, or anyone looking for high-carat-conscious couture.

Adding to their already-impressive repertoire of ‘made, not mined’ fine jewelry - the company has its sights on becoming one of the top destinations for lab-grown diamond jewelry. It says it has a stunning showcase of abstract silhouettes and dramatic lines that feature new pear, baguette, and marquise cuts.

“We believe the future is lab-grown,” CEO Don O’Connell said, “and today’s consumers expect their products to be as beautiful as they are responsible. So we introduced this collection to showcase what the future of luxury fine jewelry can - and should - look like.”

NEW YORK, August 11, 2022 — International advocacy organization Global Citizen has announced the lineups for the 10th anniversary Global Citizen Festival. The festival will occur in New York City’s Central Park, presented by Citi and Cisco, and Black Star Square in Accra, Ghana, presented by Harith General Partners, on Saturday, September 24, 2022.

Since it lit up Central Park’s Great Lawn in 2012, the Global Citizen Festival has become the world’s longest-running global campaign calling for an end to extreme poverty. The event unites millions of voices, amplified by the world’s most prominent artists, demanding world leaders take action NOW.

Globally, the disproportionate impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has pushed nearly 100 million more people into extreme poverty and is reversing recent trends of shrinking inequality, leading to the loss of at least three years of progress. Without urgent action, this backsliding will only worsen, the organization said. In addition, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has aggravated the situation further, with as many as 323 million people facing acute hunger and 1.2 billion people currently living in nations experiencing a perfect storm of food, energy, and financial crises. If we don’t take action now, as many as 200 million more people may be plunged into extreme poverty by November, Global Citizen warned.

The 2022 Global Citizen Festival will call on world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly and the G20 and COP27 to step up and invest $600 million. The investment will go into the future of women and girls, close the annual $10 billion climate financing shortfall, deliver $500 million to help African farmers respond to the global food crisis, and provide urgent relief from crushing debts to End Extreme Poverty.

With two stages in international cultural capitals, New York City and Accra, Ghana, the 2022 Global Citizen Festival will be broadcast and streamed on ABC, ABC News Live, FX, Hulu, iHeartRadio, TimesLIVE, Twitter, YouTube, and more. ABC News Live’s broadcast will air on Saturday, September 24, and a primetime special, Global Citizen Festival: Take Action NOW, will air on ABC on Sunday, September 25 at 7:00 pm ET / 6:00 pm CT. Different tune-in details to follow in the coming weeks.

Performers on the Central Park stage will include Metallica, Charlie Puth, Jonas Brothers, MÅNESKIN, Mariah Carey, Mickey Guyton, and Rosalía, with more to be announced. In addition, actor, producer, author, and Global Citizen Ambassador Priyanka Chopra Jonas will host the Global Citizen Festival in NYC.

Marking the 65th anniversary of Ghana’s independence and the 20th anniversary of the African Union, Accra’s iconic Black Star Square will see live performances from Usher, SZA, Stormzy, Gyakie, H.E.R., Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, and TEMS with more to be announced.

“Decades of systemic and political failures have led humanity into the midst of converging and rapidly deteriorating crises - climate, hunger, health, war, and conflict. We demand a secure future for girls everywhere. We demand governments keep their promises on climate funding. We demand relief from debts unjustly crashing economies. And we demand action NOW, while there’s still time to change our collective trajectory,” Hugh Evans, Co-Founder and CEO of Global Citizen, said.

NEW YORK, August 3, 2022 — Today, FORTUNE announced  the ‘Fortune Global 500’ list for 2022, ranking the world’s largest corporations by revenue for fiscal 2021.  Walmart  claims the top spot for the ninth consecutive year and for the 17th time since 1995. In addition, Saudi Aramco (No. 6) reclaims its title as the world’s most profitable company, with $105 billion in earnings.

Mainland China  (including Hong Kong), with 136,  has the most companies on the list,  up from last year. Adding Taiwan, the total for Greater China is 145. The U.S., with 124, is up two; in third place, Japan lost six, totaling 47. For the first time, the aggregate revenue of Fortune Global 500 companies based in Greater China (including Taiwan) exceeded the income of U.S. companies on the list, accounting for 31% of the total.

Of the 2022 rankings, FORTUNE List Editor Scott DeCarlo says, “A rebound from the worst depths of the pandemic created a huge tailwind for the world’s largest companies by revenue. As a result, aggregate sales and profits hit record levels in the fiscal year 2021 for the Fortune Global 500. The Global 500 is the ultimate scorecard for business success, and the companies face another big test navigating several global economic headwinds in 2022.”

Fortune Global 500 companies generated revenues totaling $37.8 trillion—more than one-third of the world’s GDP—for an increase of 19% over last year, marking the highest annual growth rate in the list’s 33-year history. Cumulative profits were up 88% for a record $3.1 trillion over the previous year. Companies on the 2022 list employ 69.6 million people worldwide and are based in 229 cities and 33 countries and regions. The number of Fortune Global 500 women CEOs rose to 24 this year, from 23 last year.

In her foreword to the magazine’s August/September 2022 issue, FORTUNE Editor-in-Chief Alyson Shontell writes, “Here’s the catch: [These] numbers reflect financials from 2021 when the world was starting to bounce back from COVID-19. However, this year has brought a whole new truckload of challenges. For businesses of every size, the real test will be who can survive and thrive in tough conditions, especially if—or when—a recession of unknown length and depth settles in.”

Companies are ranked by total revenues for their respective fiscal years ended on or before March 31, 2022. All listed companies must publish financial data and report part or all of their figures to a government agency.
